Level Up: Build Strong
As Women in Construction Week comes to a close, we’re proud to recognize the talented women across Epstein who help shape the built environment every single day and reflect on the meaningful impact they have across our industry.
This year’s theme, “Level Up: Build Strong,” highlights the importance of growth, confidence, and supporting one another at every stage of a career. Across the AEC industry, women continue to bring valuable perspectives, leadership, and expertise that strengthen both project teams and the communities we serve.
Whether in the field or behind the scenes, women across Epstein play a vital role in shaping the landscape of the construction industry, as well as inspiring the next generation of leaders along the way.
Finding Their Path
There is no single path into the AEC industry. For many women at Epstein, the journey began with a curiosity about how things are built or a desire to make a meaningful impact on communities.
Some were drawn to the fast-paced and collaborative nature of construction, while others were inspired by the opportunity to combine creativity, science, and problem solving. No two days in the industry look the same, and as one colleague shared, it offers “a fast-paced and collaborative environment where you’re constantly learning from the people around you.” Another added, “Every project presents new challenges and opportunities to learn.”
These journeys show how curiosity, passion, and perseverance guide women at every stage of their careers, helping them grow, make an impact, and leave their mark on the industry.
Growing Through Experience and Support
A key part of “Level Up: Build Strong” is the idea that growth happens together. Many women highlighted the role that mentors, teammates, and supportive leaders have played in helping them build confidence and develop their careers.
Construction is a team-driven industry, and those relationships often become one of the most rewarding parts of the work. As one team member shared, “The relationships you build along the way are just as meaningful as the work itself.”
Through collaboration, shared knowledge, and support, women across Epstein continue to strengthen both our teams and the work we deliver.
Advice for the Next Generation
The women of Epstein also shared encouraging advice for young women considering careers in the AEC industry: be confident, stay curious, and don’t be intimidated by new opportunities.
As one colleague put it, “Go for it, be yourself, and don’t be intimidated.”
Another emphasized the importance of leaning into opportunities: “Jump in with your eyes wide open and be willing to learn.”
Their message reflects the spirit of this year’s theme: continuing to level up, build strong careers, and help shape the future of the industry.
Together, we’re not just building structures; we’re building a stronger, more inclusive industry - one project, one team, and one career at a time.
