Epstein provided interior architectural and engineering services for a 67,000 square foot North American headquarters for a leading performance nutritional supplement provider. The space occupies the top two floors of a mid-rise office building in Downers Grove, Illinois. The build out includes office space, a fitness center, café, photo studio, and board room.

The design premise was to utilize many of the existing architectural elements while repurposing and reimagining the design to align with the organization's brand and create an exciting non-corporate environment. An emphasis was placed upon bringing in natural light and keeping the scenic views as accessible as possible. The colors and materials were carefully selected to complement the existing porcelain flooring of the lobby space as well as the sycamore millwork panels throughout. Large scale graphics enliven the environment and create an interesting dialog within the workplace. The custom reception desk encases two large scale monitors promoting the organization and updating employees as well. The interconnecting stair behind the reception desk utilizes large scale lighting and a refreshed soffit color as a branded visual focal point within the space.

One of the other key design features is the fitness center. Originally a single story conference center, the new design takes advantage of the double height that had previously been hidden while repurposing existing millwork. The space has a gritty quality that will also serve as an ad hoc studio for photo shoots.

"It was a pleasure to have another major Project completed on-time and on-budget…….and to also exceed the expectations of everyone that has visited the space."
