Epstein served as architect of record, structural engineer, MEP engineer and LEED consultant for Whirlpool's Riverview Campus in Benton Harbor, Michigan. This three phase development includes 250,000 square feet of new offices, conference/dining facilities and 10,000 square feet of retail.
(Phase I of this development was completed in May of 2012 and received LEED-NC Platinum certification by the United States Green Building Council. Phase II was completed in 2013 and received LEED-NC Gold certification. Phase III was completed in 2017 and received LEED-NC Gold certification)
The entire development is expected to take approximately five years to complete and will allow Whirlpool to improve productivity, operations, energy efficiency, and the overall employee experience. These changes will also allow the company to reduce its operating costs, and will provide greater flexibility to adjust to changing business and staffing needs.
Epstein is part of a developer-led Design-Build team that includes Pizzuti Development, from Columbus, Ohio; Pepper Construction, also from Columbus; Arquitectonica, the design architect, from Miami and New York; and Interior Architects, the interior designer, from Chicago.
