We are very pleased to announced that two Epstein designed projects have been named finalists in the AIA Chicago’s Design Excellence Awards! Those two projects are: Riverview Bridge, a 1,000-foot pedestrian and bicycle bridge that crosses the Chicago River just north of Addison street to California Park helping create a nearly contiguous 2-mile long recreational trail; & the O’Hare Emergency & Standby Power Systems, a two-building facility that supports loads internal to O’Hare’s H&R Plant and also provides reserve power for the terminals and concourses.
AIA Chicago’s Design Excellence Awards honor the outstanding work of AIA Chicago members and their firms, reinforce the value of great architecture, and highlight members’ contributions in designing equitable and sustainable places and spaces.
Riverview Bridge & the Emergency & Standby Power Systems projects will be honored at DESIGNIGHT, an event which historically has been an annual, ticketed event with limited access. AIA Chicago has opened this year’s event to the public by hosting a free celebration in at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park on September 12, 2022, at 6:00pm. All are welcome!
