Amy Northern, Project Architect, and her family had a memorable and fun filled labor day weekend visiting Santa Cruz, California. Her husband’s parents and grandma all live there and it’s become a family favorite! Amy’s husband, Luke, and three children, Liam (10), April (8), and Rae (6) filled their vacation with both old and new activities, packing a lot into each day! They made a trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and took in all the rides and carnival games plus all the delicious food and drinks, of course. Another must on their visit was making lemonade with fresh lemons from their great grandma’s lemon tree!

Some of the new stops on the trip included visiting The Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz, full of optical illusions, hiking at Point Lobos State Reserve, which served up some beautiful views along the Monterey Bay, and stand up paddle boarding in the Twin Lakes state beach harbor. They even got lucky enough to see several humpback whales while whale watching in Monterey Bay!

We couldn’t think of a better way spend a holiday weekend!
