Epstein was recently named as a finalist for Architectural Firm of the Year by Illinois Real Estate Journal as part of their annual Commercial Real Estate Awards program, an event which celebrates the achievements, successes and highlights from all sectors of the Illinois commercial real estate industry. Winners for this program will be announced at a ceremony being held on July 13, 2022 at the O’Hare Hyatt Regency.

Last year, a year in which Epstein celebrated its 100th Anniversary, was one that was particularly memorable for the firm. Not only did we rejoice in achieving our Centennial year, but we also grew in size & revenue, saw the completion of important civic, commercial and industrial projects in the Midwest, were awarded significant design assignments across the United States and a number of our architectural works were recognized by leading industry groups for excellence in design.

Whenever a firm achieves a milestone anniversary it’s an accomplishment to celebrate. For Epstein, reaching 100 years in 2021 was an achievement that we took significant pride in achieving. A century of service that has seen our firm grow from a small structural engineering firm located on the outskirts of Chicago’s Union Stockyards to a firm that now offers clients design, engineering and construction services around the globe.

But last year was not all about looking back and celebrating the past, but was one in which our firm grew by over 10% and experienced significant revenue increases, a growth that was recently cited by Crain’s Chicago Business in an article about Chicago’s Largest Privately Held Companies.

In addition to our physical and financial growth, in 2021 we witnessed the completion of a number of important projects in the Midwest. These projects included; a new cutting-edge R&D facility and manufacturing plant for Newly Weds Foods in Chicago; renovated pedestrian tunnels which connect terminals 1, 2 & 3 with the Hilton Hotel and structured parking garage at O’Hare International Airport; and a critical COVID-testing & microbiological testing laboratory for TAAG Genetics in St. Charles, Illinois.

Lastly, it’s truly and honor being named a finalist for this program and we thank the editors for Illinois Real Estate Journal for nomination.
