Epstein provided full-service design and engineering services for "Project Explode", a 595,000 square feet renovation of an existing warehouse distribution facility into a powder process plant facility for a Nutraceutical Powder Blending Company.
The new renovated facility produces approximately 60 million pounds of finished goods at full build-out. In addition to the renovation of existing facility, the project also added approximately 32,000 square feet to the building's total area in order to accommodate and support our client's unique powder processes.
This “new" powder process plant facility is comprised of the following program components: three-story blender pods, QA lab, raw materials storage, COP and drying rooms, maintenance shop, 12 incoming and 12 outgoing docks, boiler & chiller room, offices, cafeteria, dust collection rooms, packaging and filling rooms, restrooms, locker rooms, uniform room, training room, whey rooms, pre-weigh rooms, battery charging area, and warehouse area.
Additionally, the project utilized a phased delivery approach with construction completed by October 2013 and the powder process plant operational, for the first phase with a capacity of 20 million pounds of finished goods, in March of 2014.
