Epstein is pleased to be providing civil engineering services for Wolf Point East, a 60-story residential tower with 698 luxury apartments.

The development, located along the Chicago River, will also have six levels of below grade parking, 3,900 square feet of street-level retail, and 35,000 square feet of amenities. At 930,000 total square feet, Wolf Point East will be among the largest apartment buildings in the city.

Dave Hilty, PE, Epstein's Civil Engineering Project Manager, explains what can be seen in the construction progress photos featured in this article:

The 60-story Wolf Point East building is at about the half-way point. Construction of the river walk structural support is complete. Epstein's civil engineering sized the stormwater management facilities that included a detention vault within the below-grade parking structure. A hydrodynamic separator was provided to filter the total suspended solids from the river walk runoff prior to it entering the Chicago River.

Epstein will also be designing the improvements to the Orleans Street viaduct that will include structural modifications for curb and signal pole relocations as well as handicap accessible crosswalks and ramps.

Wolf Point East is part of the overall Wolf Point development, for which Epstein's civil engineering has provided full civil engineering services since 2011.
