December 16, 2022

Last night, December 15th, was a wonderfully bittersweet evening at Epstein, where we as a firm, including a significant number of former employees and retirees, gathered in our Chicago Headquarters to wish our beloved Stu White a richly deserved retirement.

After 27+ years at Epstein, Stu will retire at the end of the year. A retirement that is very much well-earned but nonetheless means that we will no longer have one of the true great Epsteiners in our office and, more importantly, in our lives on a daily basis.

In Stu’s storied career at Epstein, he’s served in a number of project roles – from Project Engineer to Project Manager to Principal-in-Charge, and led departments and helped champion a number of critical business development efforts. In this time Stu, has also worked on a wide variety of industrial, commercial and civic sector projects from large food production plants to high-rise residential developments to critical infrastructure improvements at airports. Clients and projects that are a true testament to Epstein’s incredible market diversity.

But of all of Stu’s achievements, the most impactful and important role he’s had at Epstein is being a willing and influential mentor and a trusted friend to his colleagues for nearly three decades. Stu has always found the time to provide technical insight and direction, offer professional and personal guidance and support as well as being the go-to source for any and all Illini related trivia!

Stu’s Retirement Party was an opportunity for all of us to express our gratitude to Stu in person (and some virtually) to let him know that Stu is the type of person that makes Epstein… well, Epstein. We won’t be the same without him, but we’ve all been better because he’s been in our lives.

Stu – thanks for everything, enjoy your retirement and the wonderful opportunity it presents to spend more time with your incredibly family – Jena and Jackson. Take care and don’t be a stranger!
