Ed Curley, AIA, Director of Architecture & Interiors and Jason Chandler, AIA, LEED AP, Director of DesignBuild, spoke virtually with the AIA Japan during the AIA International Spring Conference. The event, AIA Japan – Unified DesignBuild, provided Epstein the opportunity to discuss the benefits, address perceived limitations, and speak to our effective use of the delivery method.
Tomoaki Tanaka, President of AIA Japan and Tetsuya Yaguchi, Vice President of AIA Japan moderated the discussion.
As pioneers in the DesignBuild delivery method, Epstein has a unique approach in unifying design, engineering and construction to provide flexible, cost-efficient and timely facilities for clients across the world. Epstein’s DesignBuild team offers the luxury of single source responsibility by having both the design and the construction in the hands of one company. This allows our clients the ability to focus on their business needs rather than becoming the coordinator and mediator between the designer and the contractor. Our clients notice an increased level of quality due to this singular responsibility. By maintaining a high level of quality throughout the entire process, we can engage the client, make recommendations and keep them involved. Epstein is appreciative of the opportunity to not just share our knowledge, but to reach an international audience.
