We are pleased to welcome Sarah Bush, our new Design Professional, to Epsteins Architecture department! Since joining us, Sarah has been working on the presentation materials for our design of a new mixed-use development project in Romania. She is looking forward to learning more about the full process and difference phases of projects in the future.

Sarah graduated from Virginia Tech (go Hokies!) in May with her degree in architecture and minor in French. While there, she participated in Habitat for Humanity, Hillel (the largest Jewish campus organization in the world) where she helped bake challah and cook every week for Shabbat), the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), and the Digital Mentorship Collaborative (DMCO), which is a workshop-based software-focused student learning group. She was also able to participate in many different classes in water color, ceramics, and digital fabrication that were a great time to explore hands-on art projects.

Sarah ended up joining the field of architecture for its happy medium between both science and art and logic and creativity. She has also always been interested in different cultures and societys views on interaction with spaces and how spaces can change said interactions. She loves learning the different ideologies behind why brie-soleil patterns are significant, or what the importance is of said coining pattern in history as a political statement.

She grew up in Rochester, NY and went to Fairpoint High School. Most of her life has been spent in the Finger Lakes region, and she definitely missed the large bodies of fresh water when she was at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.

Sarah loves sailing, swimming, kayaking, boating; pretty much anything that puts her on or in water. Crafting, pottery, painting and photography are also big past times. Travel photography is definitely a favorite of hers and she has had had a lot of opportunities over the past three years to accumulate a ton of photos: France multiple times, Israel twice, Hong Kong in 2017, a semester in Switzerland in 2018, three weeks over the summer in Munich, etc. Oh, and thats not accounting for roughly 40 percent of the U.S.

She just recently moved to Chicago and is interested in food and event recommendations; specifically in the Lakeview area, in the Loop or around the office. Lets help her out!

Once again, welcome to Epstein, Sarah. Were delighted to have you with us.
