We are delighted to welcome our new Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Chris Janeck, to Epsteins MEP department! While at Epstein Chris will be working on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, in the past, he has worked on essentially every type of project from high-rise condos and schools to office build-outs and more.

Chris went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison (go badgers!) and studied mechanical engineering and business entrepreneurship. While there, he played intramural hockey and soccer and attended many football and basketball games.

When he graduated, Chris initially went into the manufacturing world. However, after a few months, he knew something wasnt quite right and realized that he wanted to be in the construction industry. Chris was living in San Francisco at the time, and worked for ESD (Environmental System Design, Inc.), which is a global consulting engineering firm. After about two years, he decided to move back to Chicago and was transferred to their office here.

Chris grew up constantly building things out of LEGOs, Lincoln Logs, Kapla Blocks, and just about anything he could get his hands on. He also always excelled in math and science and, therefore, saw engineering to be a natural route. Designing or building something, and seeing a finished physical product, has always been very rewarding for me.

Chris grew up in Lake Forest and went to Lake Forest High School. Outside of work, he likes to travel and play sports such as soccer, golf, tennis and hockey. He also enjoys being on the water and downhill skiing, water skiing and scuba diving.

A few things Chris Epstein family should know about him: he likes to be challenged and learn new things; he enjoys staying busy and doesnt mind working extra hours; and he really does not like the Packers.

Once again, welcome to Epstein, Chris! We are all eager to meet you.
