We are delighted to welcome Arturo Nunez, our new Design Professional, to Epsteins Architecture department!

For the past six years, Arturo was working as an intermediate architect at SOM and, before that, he was at dSPACE Studio, a residential design firm.

Arturo grew up in the southern part of New Mexico in a very small farming town with a population of 300. He attended a high school in a neighboring town, Truth or Consequences (yes, that is a real town), where he met his wife. Together, they moved to Albuquerque to attend the University of New Mexico (Vamos Lobos!), where Arturo received his Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.). Shortly thereafter in 2009, he and his wife, along with their two kids, moved to Chicago so he could attend graduate school. He earned his Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Having grown up in a rural town, Arturo spent most of his childhood living outdoors exploring nature and was always drawn to creating things. Architecture felt natural. Moving to Chicago was a natural progression, he said.

Arturo and his wife recently welcomed their third child (congratulations!). As such, all of his extra time is spent being a father, with plenty of sports, museums, concerts, camping, skiing, swimming, traveling, amusement parks, and other activities filling up his weekends. Additionally, Arturo and his wife recently purchased a new home that they have been rehabbing for the past year; a project, he said, that has given them the opportunity to show their kids how a little hard work can make a huge change.

I love having kids, it gives me an excuse to explore the world through them. Arturo added that he thoroughly enjoys living and raising his children in Chicago, where they are exposed to so much diversity.

Once again, welcome to Epstein, Arturo! We are excited to have you.
