Ed Curley, AIA, director of architecture, and Greg Osborne, PE, director of civil engineering, spoke recently to students who are part of the Illinois Institute of Technology's program, The Master of Tall Buildings and Vertical Urbanism.

The only degree of its kind is a design-based, interdisciplinary program offered by Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture. It supports the research and discovery that is vital to the development of high-performance, energy-efficient, healthy, and sustainable high-rise buildings that will define the cities of tomorrow. The post-professional program helps students develop a better understanding of the theories, methods and technologies necessary to achieve high performance, energy efficient, healthy, and sustainable high rise buildings.

Ed and Greg discussed several topics including, past design challenges we still face today and creating public spaces that withstand climate, economic, cultural, and technological changes.

Thank you to the staff at IIT for inviting Epstein to share our knowledge with these bright, up and coming designers!

A little fun fact about Ed: he received his Bachelor of Architecture from IIT.
