Epsteins John Robertson, our Senior Technical Architect, is giving a Lunch n Learn presentation to the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Chicago Chapter.
Held on October 3rd at Epsteins Chicago office, participants will learn the nuts and bolts about modular construction through the presentation of a case study for a new 25 story, 168 key hotel in mid-town Manhattan, the AC NoMad. Epstein was pleased to serve as the associate architect for the AC NoMad, which, when complete, will become the worlds largest modular hotel.
Learning objectives of Johns presentation include:
- How modular construction is integrated into a high-rise hotel project and how it impacts construction and detailing.
- The impacts of modular construction on the production of construction documents and permitting.
- Exterior wall testing for modular façade elements. A brief discussion of the European Dynamic Water Penetration standard will be discussed.
- Reviewing the process of manufacturing a modular hotel room.
