Welcome to Epstein… Lachelle Curry!

Our new Administrative Assistant working within the Architecture group

We are pleased to welcome Lachelle Curry, our new Administrative Assistant, back to Epstein! Those who have been around a while may remember her. She was previously with us from 1998 to 2011. I’ll save you the trouble of doing the math, that’s 12 years! Lachelle will be working within the Architecture group.

Prior to rejoining Epstein, Lachelle worked at the University of Chicago Medicine, supporting five surgeons: two bariatric, two breast and one general. She also provided assistance to the Surgical Center for the Treatment of Obesity.

Lachelle went to Bradley University (go Braves!) in Peoria for two years before transferring to the University of Illinois at Chicago (go Flames!) for her remaining two years. She received her degree in psychology and also earned a minor in social work. Lachelle worked as a social worker with abused kids for about four years, got burnt out and started working as an administrative assistant temporarily.

She also has an Associate’s Degree in culinary arts from Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, formerly known as the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago (CHIC)! Lachelle was actually attending culinary school during her first stint with Epstein. Until recently, her weekends were spent working as a personal chef. Noteworthy: Lachelle is a pescatarian, meaning she only eats dairy and fish – no meat.

Needless to say, Lachelle loves to cook. When she’s not in the kitchen, she also enjoys crocheting. She’s currently taken on the task of creating two baby blankets for a friend who’s about to become a first-time grandmother! Additional hobbies include reading, playing word games and dominating crossword puzzles.

She has a 25-year-old son, NSangue, and a 7-year-old grandson, NSangue, Jr. The name is Ghanaian and means “a king’s throne.” Alright, that’s pretty cool.

Lachelle said she is extremely happy to be back at Epstein, adding old and new coworkers alike have made her feel very welcome.

We are just as happy to have you back, Lachelle!
