We are pleased to welcome Russell Robinson, our new Design Engineer, to Epstein’s Civil Engineering team!
Russell attended the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) (go, RedHawks!), where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering as well as a Master of Engineering in structural engineering. While there, Russell was the activities coordinator for the Structural Engineering Association of Illinois (SEAOI) Chapter at IIT. He was also an active member of Chi Epsilon, the school’s civil engineering honor society, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Construction Management Association (CMA).
Russell grew up on the south side of Chicago and attended Dr. Martin Luther King High School. It was there, during his senior year, that he was first introduced to civil engineering through an internship at Infrastructure Engineering, Inc. Russell said the company’s owner positively impacted his decision to pursue engineering.
Outside of work, he likes to play basketball, travel and shop – he does consider himself a fashion connoisseur. He’s also interested in sports, financial investing and spending quality time with his friends and family. He is the oldest of four siblings and is proud to be able to set a good example for them, he said.
Russell also consults with an architect to complete a range of unique structures. He recently completed the structural design of some decks in Glendale Heights and the design of steel stairs in the Bridgeport neighborhood.
“I love to learn new things to perfect my craft and add more experience to my current skill set,” he said, adding, “Structural engineering is my special talent!”
Welcome to Epstein, Russell, we’re thrilled to have you join us!
