We are delighted to welcome Ashanti Carpenter, our new Project Coordinator, to Epstein! Ashanti is joining our DesignBuild Department, where she will be assisting team members with project-related needs and administration assistance.

Ashanti graduated with a B.S. in biology from Claflin University (go Panthers!) in Orangeburg, South Carolina. During her college years, she was also an RA (resident assistant), then dorm manager, and had a laboratory research internship on campus. Ashanti also participated in Quiz Bowl, a completion that tests players on a wide variety of academic subjects, pledged Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and held a number of volunteer positions throughout the years.

She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended Benjamin Banneker Academy for high school.

Before moving to Chicago, Ashanti worked in New York City at AKRF, Inc., an environmental, planning and engineering consulting firm as a project assistant. She says she joined the industry based on past career experience, a genuine interest in design and construction, and her overwhelming need to organize everything which is a key function of her role.

Outside of work, she likes to travel. Some of her recent destinations include Mexico, Costa Rica, France and Benin. She is hoping to make it to the UK or Morocco this year. Ashanti also enjoys spending time with her friends, attending comedy shows or plays, working on creative projects, and going to any event that seems like it might be up her alley (whiskey and wine tastings, for example).

Something to keep in mind regarding Ashanti? According to her, shes more laid back than she looks. Noted.

Great to have you on board, Ashanti!
