Welcome to Epstein … Michele Durrani!

Our new Proposal Specialist working within our Marketing/Business Development Team

Epstein is pleased to welcome Michele Durrani to the Epstein family. Michele comes to us after spending the previous eight years working in Dubai serving as the Bid Projects and Quality Lead for Serco, a global provider of public services for the transportation, health and aviation industries. At Serco, Michele’s responsibilities included leading the planning and implementation of bid programs as well as ensuring that those bids were completed and delivered within the mandated timelines. At Epstein, Michele is serving as our Proposal Specialist responsible for leading our efforts in responding to requests for proposals and/or qualifications as well as managing our internal proposal standards and procedures.

Michele moved from Dubai to Chicago, actually Bloomindale, last year, her latest stop, and hopefully last, on a dizzying journey she’s had living around the world. How whirlwind? Here it goes … Born in the UK, moved to Chicago as an infant, then to Boston for a couple years of elementary school, back to Chicagoland where she lived in Evanston until 9th grade, when she moved to California to finish High School, then off to her parent’s native Pakistan, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts from Kinnaird College for Women in Lahore, Pakistan, while in Pakistan she got married and, then back to Chicago where she lived in Edgewater and had a son, until leaving for the United Arab Emirates in ’08. Tired yet?

Lastly, Michele speaks, Urdu, Punjabi and Farsi, the last is one of the languages spoken in Afghanistan. A country that Michele has ancestral roots and one in which her distant relatives ruled as part of the Durrani Empire which included regions that include modern-day Afghanistan, Pakistan, as well as some parts of northeastern Iran, eastern Turkmenistan, and northwestern India, including the Kashmir region. Meaning Michele is royalty, and therefore probably should be called our Proposal ‘Queen’ instead of ‘Specialist.’ Sound about right, Michele?

Once, again, welcome to the family Michele, we are really excited to have you with us!
