The Forest Preserve District had an opportunity with this project to close the final gap in the West Branch DuPage River Trail that will extend for 23 miles and connect to other regional trails on the north and south. This trail adds options for off-road trails offered to DuPage County residents, especially Warrenville and West Chicago.

This project to included design engineering services for the federal-aid project to close a critical gap in the West Branch DuPage River Trail. The 3,300 foot long limestone trail includes a prefabricated structure over Roosevelt Road and the West Branch DuPage River with tub structures as approaches. Land acquisition was required. The scope of services included surveys and plats, Phase I verification, preparation of plans, specifications and estimates, hydraulics, permitting and IDOT coordination. The project also included trail alignment, structure design, signal design and drainage design.
