Overview

The Forest Preserve District had an opportunity with this project to close the final gap in the West Branch DuPage River Trail that will extend for 23 miles and connect to other regional trails on the north and south. Once complete, this trail will add to the options for off-road trails offered to DuPage County residents, especially Warrenville and West Chicago.

We understand this project to include Phase II, and possibly Phase III, engineering services for the federal-aid project to close a critical gap in the West Branch DuPage River Trail. The proposed trail is 3,300’ of limestone trail for shared use. There is a prefabricated structure proposed over Roosevelt Road and the West Branch DuPage River with tub structures as approaches. Land acquisition is required. Scope of services include Survey/Plats, Verification of Phase I, Preparation of Plans, Specifications & Estimate, Hydraulics/Permitting and IDOT Coordination. The project will include trail alignment, structure design, signal design, drainage design, and agency coordination.
