Overview

Epstein provided interior design services for this 50,000 square foot facility that handles national software development for Freddie Macs North Central Regional Technology Center. Freddie Mac is a stockholder-owned corporation chartered by Congress in 1970 to keep money flowing to mortgage lenders in support of homeownership and rental housing.

Epstein developed a universal plan, which allows flexibility in the relocation of employees from office to office, or workstation to workstation. The design also includes a large, informal employee gathering space which provides an escape from their day-to-day routine. The high-tech design is coupled with a softer residential undertone, which was inspired by Freddie Macs corporate mission to provide a 21st century mortgage services that enable more American families the opportunity for home ownership.
