We are pleased to welcome Darren Hoppa to Epstein our new principal designer.

Darren, a Shantytown, Wisconsin native, received his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Carroll College, now Carroll University (Go Pioneers!) in 1994 and his Master of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee (Go Panthers!) in 1998.

After completing post-Masters work in Paris, Darren worked in New York for Kohn Pederson Fox and the Croxton Collaborative where he led a design team to two AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) Top 10 Design Awards. He later moved back to the Midwest and worked for Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, Solomon Cordwell Buenz, and the BKV Group. Darren has helped design a wide variety of projects from small pro-bono community assistance endeavors to high-rise office buildings, higher education facilities, hospitality projects, multi-family developments, mixed-use, and institutional projects. His focus has been on sustainable design and recently Darren was one of two project designers for Loyola University's new Institute of Environmental Sustainability.

Darren spends his free time renovating his house, running, and serving as Chair at AIA Chicago COTE. In addition, Darren enjoys dancing 50's jive with his new wife, a native of Texas, to the likes of Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry & Nick Curran. Additionally, Darren really recommends checking out JD McPherson a performer who he says puts on a killer live show.

At Epstein, Darren is currently providing design services for an office building for a pork processing company in Mexico and is also part of our Illinois Medical District Gateway Development team.

Once again welcome to the Family Darren! And, lastly 'Let the Good Times Roll!'
