Epstein is pleased to welcome Kristin Callahan to the Epstein family. Kristin comes to us from CBS Chicago, where she was a Web, Digital Media Producer responsible for gathering, writing, editing and publishing news content for CBS Chicago’s website, mobile app and social media channels. Prior to CBS, Kristin was a Ticket Executive for the Chicago Bulls, where she helped generate and grow revenue for season/group tickets and corporate sponsorships. At Epstein, Kristin will be tasked with developing and producing written marketing and promotional content for our various marketing campaigns, website, social media outlets, as well as developing video content for our soon to be unveiled YouTube channel.
Kristin is a proud graduate of the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!), where she earned her BA in Journalism & Mass Communication. Kristin also has a Master's from Northwestern University’s (Go Wildcats!) Medill School of Journalism. And, if you are curious, who does Kristin cheer for in sporting competitions between Iowa and Northwestern? Well, her undergraduate University wins out. (Kristin, we won’t let Willie the Wildcat know!).
Kristin is a life-long resident of Chicagoland, having grown up in Bloomingdale and Park Ridge, where she graduated from Maine South (Go Hawks!). Throughout high school, Kristin played basketball and was the starting point guard for her teams, a role that she learned from her father, who was her first coach in youth travel basketball leagues. Kristin continued playing basketball at Iowa, participating in intramural leagues. Today, she still plays pick-up ball in co-ed and women’s leagues.
As you would imagine from playing hoops and working for the Bulls, Kristin is a HUGE basketball fan and, not surprising, also a big fan of Michael Jordan. But, her second favorite Bull of all-time might raise some eyebrows. No, not Scottie Pippen, nope to The Worm, and not Jimmy Butler either. No, Kristin’s no. 2 is just a kid from Chicago – Derrick Rose. And when we say Kristin likes D-Rose, that’s like saying the Kardashians’ like Social Media. She’s more or less cuckoo for cocoa puffs for Derrick, and really saddened that injuries have ravaged what was promising to be a Hall of Fame career.
When not working or watching/playing basketball, Kristin is into fitness, and really into cooking and what she calls ‘food styling,’ better known as food photography. When asked what one of her favorite foods to eat is, Kristin responded with Avgolemono soup, which is a Greek dish comprised of orzo pasta finished with egg and lemon.
Lastly, as Kristin’s favorite meal is Greek, you won’t be surprised to learn that she also comes from a proud (and loud) Greek family, not quite like the comedic crew seen in ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding,’ but … not far off! (Note to Kristin’s non-Epstein family, your secrets are safe with us!).
Once again, welcome to the family Kristin, and we’d love to try this Avgolemono dish sometime (not so subtle hint!).
