The time lapse video you see here shows the façade transformation of the La Quinta San Antonio Downtown, which featured the Spanish Mission architectural style characteristic of older La Quinta Inn and Suites properties, into La Quintas new Del Sol prototype. The Del Sol palette includes large format tile in corten finish (LFT), metal roof cornice with accent lighting at LFT, and a Butterfly porte cochere. For this location, Epstein architects were responsible for removing the central arched roofline, false balcony railings and EIFS surface decoration and, in turn, creating a clean rectilinear façade. Additionally, the LFT, new signage and an illuminated roof cornice highlight the building entry, contrasting with the quiet grey color scheme of the façade.

With a focus on the bright side La Quinta has committed to an expansive phased renovation program consisting of over 200 hotels intended to elevate the brand and deliver a consistent product line which echoes the success of the Del Sol prototype. Epstein is currently one of La Quintas trusted design consultants for this nationwide re-branding program. These renovations include interior guestroom/ public space renovations, and exterior building modifications to create a consistent, modern aesthetic over the La Quinta brand.
