Today, May 14th, Seaboard Farms and Triumph Foods announced the formation of a joint venture, with equal ownership, to construct a new pork processing facility in Sioux City, Iowa, with site work expected to begin this summer and construction completed by July 2017. Epstein will serve as the Design-Builder for this $264M facility which will process about 3 million market hogs annually and employ approximately 1,100 people. The plant will be built on property in the Bridgeport West Industrial Park in Sioux City, located north of the Sioux Gateway Airport along the Missouri River.

This project marks the second time Epstein will design and build a new Triumph Foods pork processing plant, following on the completion in 2005 of a 625,000 square foot facility in St. Joseph, Missouri. In addition, Epstein is also currently serving as the design builder for a Dailys Premium Meats pork processing plant across the street from the original Triumph Foods St. Joseph facility. Dailys is jointly owned by both Seaboard & Triumph.

We are very excited about partnering with Triumph and Seaboard on this major food processing plant, a facility that affirms Epsteins position as one of the preeminent designers, engineers and builders in the meat industry.
