This past Monday, March 12th, L. Randall (Randy) Buescher, AIA, our senior vice president and director of architecture and interior design, was officially confirmed as a Board Member for the Glessner House Museum, a National Historic Landmark which was recently named by Curbed as one of the Top House Museums in the United States. The Glessner House, located 1800 S. Prairie in Chicago, was designed by architect Henry Hobson Richardson and completed in 1887. The residence is considered one the most important residential commissions of the 19th century and in the late 1800s the Glessner House design was seen as a, radical departure from traditional Victorian architecture, and the home later, served as an inspiration to Frank Lloyd Wright and helped redefine domestic architecture.

Currently, the Glessner House Museum offers tours of the residence, the groundbreaking architecture as well as the behind the scenes visit which offers a close-up look at the Museums collection with, the chance to experience the rooms from a different perspective. Lastly, Randys role as a board member of the Glessner House is to help the Museum achieve its recently adopted Vision and Value Statements including its Mission, To spark excitement in architecture, history, and design through a dynamic exploration of Glessner House, its family, and its preservation.
