The Epstein Community Foundation (ECF), the employee-run charitable arm of Epstein, is excited to announce it has awarded $5,000 grants to GiGi's Playhouse - Chicago & HSA McKinley Park.

Gigis Playhouse - Chicago provides free life changing therapeutic and education programs to individuals with Down syndrome, their family and community. They will use the grant to modernize and improve their literacy program. It will provide one-on-one tutoring for over 80 students. The ability to read and communicate is paramount to helping children and adults with Down syndrome develop confidence, gain independence, and live a rich and meaningful life. ECF is thrilled to play a small role in helping to make this program a success. Congratulations to Gigis Playhouse!

ECF has also awarded HSA McKinley Park with a $5,000 charitable grant. Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park is a public K-12 charter school that fosters an environment of inquiry and a love of learning so students are prepared to thrive in a STEM-focused high school, college and world. The school will be using the grant to pay for its Green Power for Green Spaces program. Students will design and construct five solar arrays to power various electrical systems in community gardens around Southwest Chicago communities in which their students and their families live and work. Congratulations! We cant wait to see the students progress on the project throughout the school year.
