Epstein Designs New Space for Marlborough School in Los Angeles
Chicago, Feb. 15, 2010 -- Epstein, the Chicago-based architecture, interiors, engineering and construction firm, has completed a major design and space planning project for the Marlborough School in Los Angeles. Marlborough is the oldest independent girls’ school in Southern California, situated on a four-acre campus in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles.
Epstein’s work for the Marlborough School included demolition of an administrative building and construction of a new 37,000 visual arts center. The center has first-floor administrative offices, a state-of-the-art visual arts center and a second-floor academic research center/library and technology labs.
The project also involved space planning and remodeling of two administrative buildings totaling 9,000 square feet. The buildings house classrooms and offices for the Head of School and other administrative staff.
“The project will help Marlborough maintain its leadership as one of the finest girls’ college-preparatory schools in the country,” said Michael Damore, who is Epstein’s executive managing director, president of architecture and interior design.
