Epstein’s Patelski to Discuss Supply Chain and Distribution Trends at RealShare Industrial East Conference June 5
Chicago, June 2, 2008 – John Patelski, executive managing director and president of engineering and construction for Epstein, will be part of a panel discussion on trend in supply chains and distribution at RealShare Industrial East. The fourth-annual real estate networking event takes place June 5, 2008, at the Sheraton Newark Airport Hotel in Newark, NJ. Patelski’s panel will be from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The panel discussing “From Point A to B and Beyond: Improving the Distribution and Supply Chain,” is composed of developers and logistics experts. Patelski will share expertise gained from significant construction and engineering projects led by Epstein and Sons, such as WinCo Foods’ Ceres, California distribution center and multiple distribution center facilities for Medline Industries, Inc.
“$130 per barrel oil, rising construction costs, questionable consumer demand, capacity constraint in infrastructure, and container shortages are all having a significant impact on today's transportation costs as well as the logistics and operations of many companies,” according to Patelski.
“Some companies in the quest to reduce costs are focusing on resource conservation, aggressive energy reduction strategies and going green. Further rising fuel costs may force additional creative measures including transportation collaboration and repositioning networks to bring facilities closer to suppliers and customers,” he said.
