The Epstein Community Foundation (ECF), a charity founded by Epstein employees, was pleased to participate in a book drive for Chicagoland schools.

We collected over 400 books to donate to BooksFirst Chicago and Pilsen Community Books. The ECF was also able to donate $1,500 worth of books to teachers for their classrooms. All of the donations stay local to benefit Chicago Public Schools (CPS).

BooksFirst connects children through sharing a love of reading and putting a library in every under-served Chicago public school that doesnt have one of their own.

We use our own homes, time and resources to collect books for Chicago Public Schools with 15 percent or more homeless kids and no library equivalents, the organization says.

Pilsen Community Books aims to be more than a bookstore. In addition to selling new and used books, we are here to support Pilsens schools, the company says. The first step toward promoting literacy in our neighborhoods is to provide each student with books.

Thank you to all of our employees who donated to the book drive this year!

The Epstein Community Foundation, founded in 2008, is devoted to empowering people to improve their lives through a commitment to developing partnerships with communities.
