Epstein was the architect of record, interior designer of record, as well as civil engineer, for the development of S.C. Johnson & Son's Fortaleza Hall & The Commons. Epstein worked in conjunction with Foster + Partners, a London-based design firm, which is led by the world-renown architect Lord Norman Foster.
This new 68,000 square foot building, which honors the late Chairman Emeritus Sam Johnson, is comprised of Fortaleza Hall, a 20,000 square foot museum\exhibition center, and The Commons, an employee amenity structure, which includes a 750-employee cafeteria, a bank, company store, concierge service, coffee shop, and fitness center.
“At the selection process Epstein stood out as the most professional and appropriate team for the Fortaleza Hall project and our decision to recommend their appointment was fully justified by their exemplary performance throughout the design and construction of the project. The Epstein team demonstrated their considerable experience and expertise in converting our design intent into a fully detailed and coordinated design and were proactive in resolving the many design, procurement and construction challenges."Giles Robinson Partner, Foster + Partners
