Multiple Locations, USA U.S. Cellular, the sixth largest wireless service provider in the United States, operates and invests in wireless systems across the country. The company serves more than 6.1 million customers in 26 states and employs more than 8,000 associates. To support these coverage areas, U.S. Cellular operates 400 retail locations nationwide. In order to maintain a strong “branded” image, each retail location is built-out to a predetermined design standard and outfitted with standard retail fixtures and finish materials. To assist U.S. Cellular with the implementation of new retail sales offices, U.S. Cellular retained Epstein to design, document and coordinate more than 250 stores in 2008 alone. Epstein’s innovative design, layout/fixture standardization program and roll-out has:
• Developed a strong, modern brand image.
• Reduced store design, supply and construction time 30+%, to 75-90 days from an industry benchmark of 120-150 days.
• Reduced store construction costs through volume purchasing and production efficiencies.
• Increased same-store revenue growth by providing consistent branded environment, while allowing economical promotional and POP updates.
