CCC Information Services Inc. retained Epstein in 2006 to assist them in evaluating their real estate/space needs as well as provide full interior design services for their 110,000 square foot requirement. The intent was to either relocate within the Merchandise Mart or move to another location in downtown Chicago. CCC needed to create greater synergies within their business groups and to provide more effective spaces for internal as well as on site client meetings.
After studying multiple options, it was determined that a move within the Merchandise Mart provided the ideal opportunity to update the CCC image and generate better adjacencies within business groups. By relocating to a previously built out suite with some additional square footage, the project team was able to repurpose the space while meeting the cost constraints. The end result gave all workers greater access to perimeter light, conferencing and amenities – all on the same floorplate. Because the project team was able to build out the space cost effectively, CCC was in a position to purchase new systems furniture which greatly enhanced teaming, communication and flexibility within the groups.
Special consideration was given to the amenity spaces which included a work-out facility, multiple break areas, and assembly spaces. Drawing upon the existing finishes Epstein “cleaned up” the palette of materials, carefully adjusting elements to render the appropriate image for CCC. The space is appropriate, bright, professional and most cost effective.
