Epstein is serving as architect of record, and is also providing structural engineering, civil engineering, and graphic design services for this 45-story, 1,450,000 square foot high-rise office building at Kinzie, Clark, Dearborn and Carroll Streets in downtown Chicago. 353 North Clark, which is being designed as the new corporate headquarters for the diversified financial services firm of Mesirow Financial and the national law firm of Jenner & Block LLP, will have over 1,300,000 square feet of office space, 25,000 square feet of retail space, and a 250-car parking garage. Epstein is working in association with the design architect, Lohan Anderson LLC, on this development.
353 North Clark is part of a Planned Development that includes the existing 321 North Clark Office Building (formerly known as Quaker Tower), the existing Westin Hotel, and a proposed hotel and condominium located on the block north of the 353 site. The new 353 North Clark office building will be located on the eastern portion of the site and will create an extensive landscaped entry plaza and retail element from Clark Street to Dearborn Street.
The design work on 353 North Clark began in October of 2005 and construction of the core and shell of the building is scheduled to be complete in December 2008. Interior tenant construction for Mesirow Financial and Jenner & Block will take place in 2009 with move-in scheduled for 2010.
