Motorola, Inc.
Krakow, Poland The Motorola Polska Software Development Center is a two-phase facility consisting of 65,000 square feet each, intended for the development of proprietary software. The facility can accommodate a maximum of 500 employees, 250 people initially, and includes work station team centers, shared conference and interactive spaces, labs, training centers, and a cafeteria/town hall. The facility is located on a 45-acre site located approximately 4 miles southwest of the city center of Krakow, Poland. The site is part of a new master planned technology campus associated with the 800-year-old Jagiellonian University, Poland's equivalent to Oxford University. The three-story solution is a thin linear scheme oriented perpendicular to the roadway, yet provides a full frontal reading when approaching the facility from the city. The floor plate is kept deliberately thin to provide all employees access to daylighting and views. Workstations are held back from the exterior wall to allow circulation access along the floor to ceiling glass. Amenity spaces and interactive zones are highlighted through shape and location to signal their relevance to users.
